Foley, Ala. - (OBA) - OWA Parks & Resort is set to commemorate Memorial Day weekend with festive events celebrating both the nation's fallen veterans and the beginning of summer. The resort promises an action-packed weekend filled with entertainment, patriotism, and a tribute to those who’ve fallen serving our country.
The celebration begins on Friday, May 26, at 4 pm with a lively Summer Kickoff Party, including a foam truck party, a historical scavenger hunt, lawn games, and more. As the sun sets, Tropic Falls will host a Dive In Movie Night at Big Water Bay from 6-8 pm, featuring a screening of the popular film "Moana" on a massive 48-foot LED screen. Admission to Tropic Falls is required to attend the Dive In Movie Night.
The fun continues on Saturday and Sunday, with a variety of special performances lined up. From street dancers offering quick hip hop lessons to local bands and musicians playing live on OWA Island, there's something for everyone. Music fans should be sure to catch the Velcro Pygmies on Saturday evening. A spectacular fireworks display is also planned for Saturday, May 27, starting at 8:50 pm.
In addition to the performances, there will be activities such as the Poppy Flower Activity near Native Treasure in Downtown OWA and an American Flag Handprint T-Shirt event. The weekend's events are free to attend, excluding the movie night at Tropic Falls. All activities are complimentary for guests.
