Four trails and group hikes planned for Wednesdays in May

Orange Beach’s Trailhead Challenge Encourages May Hikes

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach Parks and Recreation is inviting the community to take part in its State Park Trailhead Challenge. The event encourages outdoor activity and exploration.


Participants will complete four designated walking routes for a total of 15 miles. The program highlights trails on the east side of Gulf State Park.


The challenge runs from May 1 through May 31, 2025. Walkers can complete the routes on their own or join weekly group walks at 5:30 p.m. on May 7, 14, 21, and 28.


The group will meet at a different trailhead each week. Registered participants will receive emails with directions and updates before each walk.

This community fitness program is free, but registration is required. Everyone who completes the challenge by May 31 will be entered for prize drawings.


The Orange Beach Parks and Recreation Department hosts this event to promote health and community spirit. A printable trail map is available for participants.
