Orange Beach Elementary School Kids Set Sail in a Regatta Built on Creativity

Orange Beach Students Set Sail in the 3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach Elementary School students are gearing up for a display of creativity and ingenuity at the 3rd Annual Cardboard Boat Regatta. Scheduled for May 4th, at 10:00 am, this event promises to bring together the community at the Bear Point Community Beach for a day of wholesome fun, especially for the little ones.

Hosted by the Gifted Students program, the regatta is more than just a race; it is a testament to the students' understanding of STEM principles and teamwork. Using only cardboard and duct tape, participants will navigate their hand-crafted vessels through the shallow waters of the back bays, challenging their designs against the tides in a race to the finish line.

Students will be dedicating their time to designing, constructing, and testing their boats to ensure seaworthiness. These endeavors foster a sense of school spirit and encourage students to engage in creative thinking, applying classroom knowledge to solve real-world problems.

Parents and residents are encouraged to come out to support these young innovators. The event is open to the public, offering a day of family-friendly fun, laughter, and learning. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness first-hand the students' projects and cheer them on during the aquatic adventure.

The Orange Beach Elementary School Cardboard Boat Regatta is not just a race; it's a celebration of the creativity and collaborative spirit of the youth at Orange Beach Elementary School.

May the 4th be with each of the participants in this regatta.
