Orange Beach Proposes EMS Fee Update in Tonight’s Council Meeting

Public Hearings Postponed in Orange Beach Plans

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Orange Beach City Council will meet in a joint regular/work session on March 19 at 5 p.m. in council chambers at city hall. During the regular session, the council will discuss:
- Approving expense vouchers for $2.9 million.
- A proclamation declaring Coastal Alabama Kid Entrepreneur Day as May 11.
- Appointing a voting delegate for the Alabama League of Municipalities annual convention set for Huntsville on May 15-18.
- Approving a beer and wine license for the new location of the Orange Beach Store at the northwest corner of Perdido Beach Boulevard and State Route 161 and owned by the principal owners of the Flora-Bama and Coastal, John McInnis and Cameron Price.
- Amending the fee schedule for emergency medical treatment and transport by city ambulances.
- Amending resolutions buying three ambulances to add a $1,000 processing fee for two of the units.
- Postponing a public hearing for an ordinance change in the Bama Bayou planned unit development to revert to the previous zoning of general business. The suggested date is April 16.
- Postponing a public hearing for an ordinance to rezone 3.14 acres north of the Dollar General on State Route 161 to a planned unit development for Collins Enterprises and Cactus Properties to build an enclosed self-storage building on the site. The suggested date is April 16.
- Postponing a public hearing for an ordinance change to rezone .89 acres from neighborhood business to planned unit development for 17 townhomes to be built in the 25000 block of Perdido Beach Boulevard. The suggested date is June 18.
During the work session, the council will discuss:
- An agreement with McLean Motor Sports Productions for the spring Bama Coast Cruisin’ on April 25-27.
- A resolution and amendment to the employee's pay plan and job listing to accommodate new positions approved in the 2024 budget.
- Setting a public hearing for text amendments to remove references to charter boat home occupations to make them consistent with the commercial vessel ordinance. The suggested hearing date is April 16.
- Setting a public hearing for an ordinance change in the planned unit development for Cottages at Old Bay to add six finger piers, a lower deck and a gazebo. The suggested date is April 16.
- Setting a public hearing for an ordinance change in the planned unit development to add finger piers and a storage building at Zeke’s Landing Marina. The suggested date is April 16.

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — A group of four people is planning a new mini-golf course at the site of longtime Bubba’s Seafood House on beach road. John Pilcher, Jody Pilcher, Mary Pilcher and Emmie Pilcher Flowers are making the request. According to Baldwin County tax records, the group owns six parcels fronting the road east of Fat Daddy’s. They will request changes to a previously submitted site plan.
