The Wharf Landing Seeks Replat Approval

The Wharf and Bama Bayou Property

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – The Orange Beach Planning Commission will take up two items at its March 11 meeting concerning the failed Bama Bayou project and its replacement, The Wharf Landing.

First, the commission will hear a request from Community Development to rescind and repeal the planned unit development zoning on the Bama Bayou site and revert to its original general business zoning.

Next, the commission will hear a request from Sawgrass Consulting for The Wharf Landing to replat 105 acres into three lots east of the toll booth on the Beach Express. Both of these items were deferred from the Feb. 12 meeting.

During the meeting, the commission will also consider:

A request from Adrian Barba to amend the lots between two lots in East Orange Beach at 23000 and 23012 Park Drive in an area zoned single-family residential.

Allowing the combining of two lots in Bear Point at 5707 Pensacola Avenue in a single-family residential zoned area.

A request from Mitchell G. Lattof Jr. to subdivide 4.36 acres In the southwest corner of the intersection of Canal Road and Captain Trent Lane in a marine resort area. Developers submitted plans for Abaco condos south of the Lattof parcel with plans for seven four-story buildings with a total of 259 units in four phases.

A request from Community Development to recommend the city council to approve a zoning ordinance change removing references to charter boat home occupations.

A request for lot line change on Sampson Avenue missed the second deadline and won’t be considered at the March 11. The applicants want to relocate the lot line between 28633 and 28675 on Sampson.
