Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Emergency crews responded to a crash in Orange Beach early Sunday morning that left at least one person with injuries. The accident involved a motorcycle and a minivan and happened on Canal Road near Wharf Parkway West. Police said the motorcyclist was airlifted from the scene by helicopter. The crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine what caused it.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, July 6. Orange Beach Police said they received emergency calls about the crash in the early morning hours. Officers arrived to find debris and broken car parts scattered across the road. At least two vehicles were involved in the wreck.

One person was moved from an ambulance to a helicopter. The patient was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment. Police did not provide details on the person’s condition or any other possible injuries.

Authorities have not said whether speed, alcohol, or weather played a role in the crash. They have also not released the names of anyone involved. The Orange Beach Police Department is leading the investigation.

Canal Road remained open but was partially blocked for a time while first responders worked at the scene. Tow trucks arrived later to remove the damaged vehicles. The crash happened just off the Wharf Parkway West exit, a busy area near popular businesses and attractions.
