Lucy Buffett’s restaurant now serves favorite dishes to travelers departing for home

Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — LuLu’s has unveiled a new spot for travelers at Gulf Shores International Airport, letting visitors enjoy a taste of the Gulf Coast right up until they board their flight. The restaurant, popular for its lively atmosphere, seafood dishes, and allergy-conscious menu, officially opened inside the airport terminal this week. Lucy Buffett, the restaurateur behind LuLu’s, hopes this addition will help make the final moments of vacation a little brighter for those heading home. The new location aims to capture the same welcoming feeling as the original restaurants, even in a much smaller space.

The airport’s new LuLu’s opened yesterday, July 31, giving travelers another reason to enjoy the Gulf Coast before departure. This opening follows the launch of Allegiant Air’s service, which has increased travel through the airport and sparked plans for further expansion. LuLu’s is now the airport’s first official food and beverage partner, adding to the travel experience for both locals and visitors.

Lucy Buffett explained that the airport branch was designed for people looking to hold onto that vacation spirit a little longer or for those who didn’t get a chance to visit LuLu’s during their stay. She noted this new location allows everyone the opportunity to grab a bite, pick up a cold drink, or buy a souvenir while waiting for their flight, even if they aren’t wearing their usual beach attire.

The LuLu’s Grab & Go store, featured as the “Last Chance” stop inside the terminal, serves various snacks and meals inspired by the main restaurant. Options include popular dishes like Smoked Tuna Dip, Grilled Chicken Wraps, “Pamenna” Cheese, L.A. Caviar, and Key Lime Pie. There are also drinks and souvenirs available. The new airport stop keeps the same hospitality LuLu’s is known for, just packaged in a travel-friendly way.
