Gulf Shores Airport Hosts Emergency Drill Today
Emergency Training Exercise by Area First Responders

Gulf Shores International Airport is holding a full-scale emergency drill on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. The event is part of a federally required test of the airport’s emergency response plan.
The triennial exercise ensures the airport meets Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules for commercial airports. It also helps staff and local responders practice for real-life disasters.
People near the airport may see more fire trucks, ambulances, and police than usual. Officials say this is part of the planned drill and not a real emergency.
The airport thanked the public for their support and patience during the drill. According to officials, drills like this help keep the community safe and prepared.
