Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  The cities of Orange Beach and Gulf Shores issued mandatory curfew orders and traffic restrictions on Friday, October 9, 2026, as an approaching weather system prompted officials to close local bridges and restrict civilian movement. Orange Beach enacted a citywide curfew from 7 p.m. Friday through 7 a.m. Saturday, while local bridges were closed at noon Friday. Saturday, local bridges were closed as of noon Friday. Gulf Shores issued a parallel curfew covering the same overnight hours, directing residents to shelter in place before the evening deadline. Officers in both cities are actively patrolling and enforcing the orders as emergency crews work to manage conditions on the ground.

Please note important safety updates and restrictions for the City of Orange Beach today, October 9, 2026.


  • MANDATORY CITYWIDE CURFEW: A mandatory curfew will be in effect tonight from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM tomorrow. This order protects our residents and ensures emergency crews and public safety teams can navigate and operate as safely as possible during the weather system.
  • Patrol & Enforcement: Officers will actively patrol and enforce the curfew until it is officially lifted. Please stay off the roads and shelter in place during these hours.
  • BRIDGE CLOSURES & TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: Local bridges are NOW CLOSED as of 12:00 PM (Noon) today. Officer Presence: Officers are stationed on-site manning the bridges to assist and direct traffic. Northbound Travel: Northbound traffic is still permitted to exit/leave until sustained wind speeds reach 45 mph, at which point northbound lanes will be fully shut down for safety. 
  • Please finalize your preparations, plan accordingly, and avoid all non-essential travel.

City of Gulf Shores

A citywide curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. will be in effect tonight, October 9, through tomorrow morning, October 10. This curfew is necessary to keep residents safe and ensure public safety personnel can operate effectively during the storm. 


Please finish all travel and be in your shelter location before 7 p.m. Do not plan to be on the roads during curfew hours.
