Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) —  Waterway Village is organizing a special community art walk to support regional creators. Local shop owners want to help vendors who lost sales opportunities this season. The district plans a lively day featuring handcrafted goods, live music, and dining. Visitors can stroll through the neighborhood to meet participating creators in person.

The Waterway Village Arts & Entertainment District Merchants Association will host the Shrimp Festival Art Walk Pop-up on Saturday, October 24, 2026. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Waterway Village district of Gulf Shores.

Organizers planned the gathering within days of the 53rd Annual National Shrimp Festival's cancellation due to Hurricane Isaias. The pop-up brings together local businesses and artists, creating an immediate opportunity for artists to display and sell their work.

Ten neighborhood establishments will host visiting artists directly on their properties. Participating locations include Tacky Jacks, Sunny 105.7, Big Beach Brewery, and the Gulf Coast Arts Alliance. Other host locations include Galway Irish Public House, Acme Oyster House, and Gulf Shores Builders Supply.

Isla Wine, Foam Coffee, and Pottery Central will also welcome creators to their venues. Guests can explore the pedestrian-friendly district at their own pace. Attendees can browse unique art, listen to local musicians, and purchase specialty drinks and meals throughout the afternoon.

“Art is essential to a community’s identity, telling our stories and reflecting on what makes us unique. We know artists depend on events like the Shrimp Festival to support their livelihoods. As the Arts & Entertainment District, our mission is to champion these artists, and this Art Walk is one small way we can show up for them when they need it most,” said Jennifer Guthrie, President of the Waterway Village Arts & Entertainment District Merchants Association.

With dedicated support from the merchant association and neighborhood shop owners, the upcoming gathering offers a friendly way for neighbors to rally around working artists. Guests can enjoy everything the Waterway Village area has to offer while supporting local creators.

Organizers encourage the public to share the word with friends and neighbors. Everyone is invited to bring family and spend the day exploring the waterfront district. Organizers note that public support helps sustain coastal creative traditions during difficult times.

Additional details will be posted online as final schedules are confirmed. People can find musician lineups, host businesses, food specials, and parking tips at
