Law Enforcement Officials Urge Drivers to Use Caution Amid Ice Patches on Roadways

Ice patches on Perdido Beach Blvd, in front of Turquoise Place

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – As of 7:15 a.m. on January 23, 2025, the Beach Express Bridge remains open and passable. While the Perdido Pass Bridge is open, it still has significant ice patches, making driving conditions hazardous. Perdido Beach Boulevard, particularly in front of Turquoise Place, also has large, unavoidable ice patches. Motorists are advised to drive slowly, use extreme caution, and plan for longer travel times.

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) recommends that drivers check current traffic and road conditions before traveling. Live traffic camera feeds and updates are available at
www.ALGOtraffic.com or through the ALGO Traffic app. ALDOT emphasizes the importance of using these resources responsibly and advises against using mobile devices while driving.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather and road conditions, as icy patches can develop rapidly. Staying updated helps ensure personal safety and the safety of others on the road.
