Orange Beach City Hall To Host Blood Drive In January

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The City of Orange Beach is partnering with LifeSouth to host a blood drive at City Hall in early January. The LifeSouth Bloodmobile will be available for donors to give blood and help save lives in the community. Orange Beach City Hall is located at 4099 Orange Beach Boulevard. All donors will receive a recognition item and a free cholesterol screening in recognition of their contribution.

The blood drive will take place on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. The Bloodmobile will be stationed at City Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving residents a six-hour window to donate.

Individuals interested in donating blood can schedule an appointment through the
LifeSouth website. Walk-in donors may also be accepted, depending on availability during the event.

Potential donors must meet specific requirements to participate in the blood drive. All donors must be at least 17 years old, though 16-year-olds may donate with written parental consent. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds and present a photo ID to verify their identity.

Blood donations are critical for hospitals and medical facilities throughout the region. Each donation can help save multiple lives by providing blood for surgeries, trauma care, cancer treatments, and other medical procedures. The need for blood donations remains constant throughout the year.

LifeSouth is a nonprofit community blood center that serves hospitals across the southeastern United States. The organization operates bloodmobiles that travel to convenient locations to make donating easier for community members. Mobile blood drives allow people to donate without traveling to a fixed donation center.

The recognition item given to all donors serves as a thank-you gift for their contribution. The free cholesterol screening provides donors with valuable health information about their cholesterol levels. These incentives encourage community members to participate in blood donation efforts.

Additional information about blood donation requirements and the donation process is available on the LifeSouth website at
www.lifesouth.org. The website includes details about eligibility requirements, what to expect during donation, and how donated blood is used to help patients.
