Pensacola NAS - (OBA) - Authorities are conducting an extensive search for a 29-year-old man who went missing near Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, Florida on Tuesday. The man, described as a white male with black hair, was last seen wearing a camo jacket and jeans. The search involves the U.S. Coast Guard, state, and local responders.
The Coast Guard Sector Mobile command center watchstanders received a notification at 6:20 a.m. from NAS Pensacola security, reporting that one man had swum ashore after their 14-foot skiff capsized. The second boater, however, remains missing.
In response, watchstanders issued an urgent marine information broadcast and directed the launch of a Coast Guard Station Pensacola 29-foot Response Boat–Small crew and a Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew to join the search effort.
