Kayakers and paddleboarders raise funds for local families

2025 Witches & Werewolves Paddle

Perdido Key, Fla. — (OBA) — The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce is bringing Halloween to the water this fall with a charity paddle event for kayakers and paddleboarders of all skill levels. The event, Witches & Werewolves – Paddle for a Purpose, welcomes participants in full costume. A portion of proceeds will benefit Feed the Gulf Coast, a nonprofit that helps provide meals to families facing food insecurity in the region. The event promises a day full of costumes, community, and outdoor fun.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Hub Stacey's at The Point on Innerarity Point Road. Activities run from noon to 8 p.m., with the paddle portion from noon to 4 p.m. Costume contests begin at 4 p.m., and the after-party with live music kicks off at 5 p.m.

Participants are encouraged to dress as witches, werewolves, warlocks, or any creature of the night. Decorating boards and kayaks is part of the fun, too. The chamber invites attendees to "gather your crew, decorate your boards and kayaks, and paddle for a purpose as we celebrate Halloween on the water while helping feed our Gulf Coast neighbors." Attendees will have photo opportunities throughout the day to capture their festive costumes on the water.

The event schedule includes:

  • Costume Contests
  • Paddleboarding and Kayaking
  • Community Activities
  • Live Music
  • Drinks

Paddle tickets are $25, and businesses and organizations can sponsor the event to support the cause. Interested sponsors can find more information through the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce. The chamber will share registration details and event updates through its communications. Click here to register.

The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce and Hub Stacey's at The Point co-host the event. Hub Stacey's at The Point, located on Innerarity Point Road, serves as the backdrop for both the paddle launch and the evening after-party. The venue is well suited for events that combine outdoor activity with live entertainment.

Feed the Gulf Coast is a regional food bank serving communities across the Gulf Coast, including parts of Alabama and Florida. Fundraising events such as the Halloween paddle help the organization reach more families in need.
