Gulf Shores, Ala. — (OBA) — Road maintenance crews are preparing to repair local streets across Gulf Shores. City officials approved funding to repair cracked pavement and smooth neighborhood routes. Drivers should expect short delays in active work zones. Workers will complete paving in phases to keep traffic moving safely.

Work starts on October 15, 2026, and ends on November 20, 2026.

Engineers selected specific streets based on recent surface inspections. Major routes will receive new asphalt overlays to extend road life. Workers will also restore worn lane markings and repair broken curbs.

Crews will close single lanes during daytime work hours. Flaggers will guide drivers around equipment and heavy trucks. Residents should park in driveways, away from work zones.

City leaders allocated funds from local budget revenues and state grants. The goal is to keep neighborhood streets smooth and safe for everyone. Regular maintenance helps prevent costly repairs later.

Officials ask drivers to slow down near work crews. Extra caution protects workers and prevents accidents on busy routes. Schedules may shift slightly if severe weather delays outdoor paving operations.
