Foley Main Street Asks Residents To Shape The Future Of Downtown
Feedback from the community shapes economic development plans for years to come

Foley, Ala. — (OBA) — Foley Main Street has launched a new survey to help shape the future of Downtown Foley. The survey is open to residents, workers, and visitors. It collects community input to guide economic development and attract new businesses. Organizers say the results will influence which new businesses move into the area.
The survey opens today, Tuesday, April 7, and will stay open until April 21. This gives participants two weeks to respond. The effort is a partnership between Foley Main Street and the City of Foley. Together, they comprise the Foley Main Street Envision Team.
Organizers say the survey is more than a routine form. Respondents are asked what kinds of businesses, dining options, and housing they want to see downtown. That feedback helps show developers and entrepreneurs why Downtown Foley is a strong market.
Answers about outdoor dining, boutique shops, and new housing options are especially helpful. The data is used to persuade potential investors and business owners. The survey takes about eight minutes to complete and is available online.
"Our community's feedback is the engine that drives Downtown Foley forward," the Foley Main Street Envision Team said. "The 2022 results were a roadmap for progress. Now, we're looking toward 2026 to see how we can continue making Foley a wonderful place to live, work, and play."
The team also noted the importance of acting quickly. "It sounds so cliché, but it is true we need to know what YOU want, but hurry — you only have until April 21 to make your mark," the Envision Team added.
The 2022 survey edition attracted a record 932 participants. Foley Main Street aims to surpass that number this year. A higher response rate enhances the case for attracting new businesses to the area.
