City Of Orange Beach Transforms Finance Building Into Medical Hub
Nine-month renovation aims to grow specialized care options
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach is moving ahead with plans to bring more specialized healthcare to the area. The city is renovating its old Finance Building, located just north of the Municipal Complex on Orange Beach Boulevard. The project will transform the building into Orange Beach Medical Center South. City leaders say the goal is to attract more healthcare professionals and expand medical options for residents and visitors.
When complete, Medical Center South will sit alongside the existing Orange Beach Medical Arts building to the north. Together, the two facilities are expected to form a medical center hub for the city. The arrangement aims to consolidate healthcare services in a single, accessible area along Orange Beach Boulevard.
City administrator Ford Handley said, “As we move forward, we are evaluating potential tenants and lease structures to best serve our residents and visitors.” He went on to say, “As for the lot to the north, we are still looking at our options for the future development of that area. Ideally, we will continue to add more medical services for our area."
The Orange Beach City Council awarded the construction contract to Langan Development Company LLC. The company submitted the lowest bid of $1.4 million for the renovation work. McCollough Architecture is serving as the project's architect.
Work began in October 2026 and is expected to take nine months to complete, with a projected finish date around July 2027. City officials have not yet announced which medical providers or specialists will occupy the new space.
