Gulf Shores Shooting Drew Quick Police Action

Update 03/29/2024 @ 3:00 PM: The subject that was taken into custody related to the shooting at Surf Style is Jaytwon Williams, an 18-year-old male from Bay Minette. He is charged in Gulf Shores with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct as a result of his attempts to gain entry into vehicles during the incident. He has not been charged with the shooting.

 

He was transferred to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Deputies and transported to the Bay Minette jail due to other charges he was on bond for. The Gulf Shores Police doesn’t have any details on those charges.


According to Baldwin County jail records, the 18-year-old arrested in Gulf Shores was most recently in jail for violation of a release order and three counts of felony failure to appear.

OBA) – A shooting incident occurred on Wednesday night in the Surf Style Parking area near Gulf Place in Gulf Shores. The streets were filled with spring breakers. The Gulf Shores Police Department received a call about the incident at approximately 8:51 p.m. A 21-year-old male suspect was taken into custody at the Wal-Mart parking lot. A juvenile male victim was transported to the hospital, where he was later reported to be in stable condition.


The swift response by the Gulf Shores Police Department, along with assistance from multiple agencies including the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office, Gulf Shores Fire and Rescue, and the Orange Beach Police Department, was credited by witnesses for quickly bringing the situation under control.


This shooting occurred exactly one year after another shooting took place in the same general area.

Pursuant to Section 9-12-46, Code of Alabama as stated by Rule 220-3-.01, the Marine Resources Division (MRD) of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (ADCNR) announces that as of 6 a.m., Wednesday, May 1, 2024, all inside waters will close for commercial and recreational shrimp harvesting. With this spirit, the Perdido Beach Resort is hosting the inaugural "Paws for a Cause Charity Gala" on May 10, 2024. The event, scheduled from 6 PM to 10 PM, will raise funds for the Safe Harbor Animal Coalition (S.H.A.C.), a local organization dedicated to caring for homeless and abandoned cats and dogs in Baldwin County, Alabama.

The event will take place on August 16th, 2024, at during the Foreigner concert at The Wharf in Orange Beach. Styx will also be performing that night at the Wharf.

According to the 10Best.com article, Orange Beach's "thriving food scene" and "diverse array of dining options" impressed the judges and voters. The article highlighted the town's "locally sourced ingredients, creative menus, and talented chefs" as key factors in its victory.
