Orange Beach Students Set to Rock the Stage with Foreigner

Talented Teens to Perform Live with Legendary Band

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Orange Beach City Schools just announced that fifteen talented student musicians have been selected to perform live on stage with the iconic rock band Foreigner during their farewell tour. The event will take place on August 16th, 2024, at during the Foreigner concert at The Wharf in Orange Beach. Styx will also be performing that night at the Wharf. 


The students showcased their musical abilities by submitting audition videos, and their exceptional talents earned them the privilege to join Foreigner on stage. The selection of Orange Beach Middle-High School students to perform with Foreigner is a testament to the remarkable musical abilities of the students and it showcases the school's dedication to nurturing artistic talent.


In recognition of their accomplishment, Orange Beach Middle-High School's Theater Department will receive a $500 donation from Foreigner for their participation. This contribution will further support the school's initiatives to provide students with enriching opportunities in the performing arts.


"We are immensely proud of our students for their outstanding achievement," said Chris Shaw, Principal at Orange Beach Middle-High School. "This opportunity to perform alongside Foreigner is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and exceptional talent. We are excited to see them shine on stage and are grateful for the support of Foreigner in providing this unforgettable experience."


The students are excited and looking forward to experiencing this extraordinary opportunity to perform live, on stage with Foreigner. 


Foreigner is a 2024 inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The Orange Beach Makos Academics, Arts, and Athletics Club (MAAAC) awarded $10,000 in scholarships to five deserving high school seniors. The 2024 MAAAC Scholarship was distributed equally among the recipients, each receiving $2,000 to aid in their academic pursuits. MAAAC President, Matt Fetner, emphasized the club's commitment to fostering academic and personal growth among students.
