Wharf Landing Seeks Lot Changes at Margaritaville Site
Bear Point and Canal Road parcels also under review

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — As dirt begins to turn at the site of the new Margaritaville Resort, officials from The Wharf Landing are seeking to subdivide and rearrange some of the lots at the site. The property sits on the north side of the Intracoastal Waterway across from The Wharf. A former project for the site, Bama Bayou, was shuttered after being bogged down for years in a mire of lawsuits.
Developers will come before the Orange Beach Planning Commission on July 14 at 4 p.m. in council chambers at city hall. Two requests will come before the commission from the developers during the meeting.
First, Sawgrass Consulting will request to subdivide lot five into two lots and are looking to re-subdivide lots one and four of the property.
Plans revealed earlier this year show details from Sawgrass Consulting about the development of the waterfront district of the project. See related story.
During the meeting, the commission will also discuss:
- A request to move the lot line between two parcels located in Bear Point at 5250 Mississippi Avenue.
- A request to readjust the lot line between lots one and two in the Blackburn Family Plat subdivision located at 28251 Canal Road. There is a 76-home subdivision planned on 45 acres in the northwest corner of Canal Road and Sampson Avenue.
- A request to approve a site plan for a four-unit multi-family development called Current Tides at 28251 Perdido Beach Boulevard across from Fat Daddy’s Arcade.
