From the whimsical allure of the Wharf Sparks after Dark firework show, to the thrilling pontoon adventures courtesy of Caribe Marina and Watersports. The pulsating rhythm of Make Music at Meyer Park, the family-friendly beach games at Tacky Jacks, the enriching ART WALK at OWA, the community-centered beach clean-up event, to the soothing Sunday Brunch at Cobalt. Each day is filled with unique experiences waiting to be discovered. Whether you're a local or a vacationer, there's something for everyone in the vibrant landscape of Orange Beach this week. Wharf Fireworks and Light Show

Monday 19, 2023 – Mondays at the Wharf this season are filled with foreign land adventures like  $10 camel rides starting at 6 PM, all-day shopping, and an electric light show that polishes off the night with fireworks. Every night this summer the Wharf opens up Main Street to allow kids and families to safely dance free along the blinking palm trees. The music bounces off the scenery to the beat of the summer playlist at 8:30 PM and again at 9 PM and 9:30 PM. DJ Matt drops his beats from 6 PM to 9 PM. The special finale on Mondays starts at 8:30 PM. Turn your eyes up for The Wharf’s Sparks after Dark firework show. Enjoy an evening of spectacular lights, music, and up-close views of the iconic Ferris wheel, one of the tallest in the Southeast as it lights up the night to blend with the evening’s events.

Caribe Marina Pontoon Boat

Tuesday 20, 2023 – Experience the life of an Islander in style on your very own for the day pontoon from Caribe Marina and Watersports. Located on the East side of the Perdido Pass bridge with the clear emerald water of the Gulf of Mexico flowing in for one of the best back bay views around. Pontoon rentals range up to 25’ some come with a family fun slide and are available for half or full-day rentals. Come observe some of the area’s native and traveling birds in their natural habitats and nesting sights on our islands. Make Music Day at Meyer Park

Wednesday 21, 2023 – Make Music at Meyer Park this Wednesday as two headliners hit the stage expecting crowd participation in a summer community musical series. The Special Events team has partnered this year with the Frank Brown Songwriters and the Flora-Bama to bring to you this Make Music at Meyer Park special summer event. Rhonda Hart with Smokey Otis will set the stage belting out all the vocals as participating attendees bring the charms with tambourines provided by the City of Gulf Shores and egg shakers. Join the musical high life and be a part of making music on the Gulf Coast this summer. Food Trucks will be available for those who work up an appetite-shaking your tambourines.

Beach Games on Thursday at Tacky Jacks Summer of Fun

Thursday 22, 2023 – Tacky Jacks Summer of Fun continues this Thursday with Beach Games. The event is free and so is lunch. Every Thursday this summer in Gulf Shores Tacky Jacks is hosting a kid’s competition in fun Beach Games and challenges. All kids aged 6–12 years old that participate in the games will receive a free lunch. Bring the whole family and watch as the kids amp up some mental strategies along with physical endurance to bring home the big summer prize. Parents can order from the bar and join others as they cheer on the family teams. All menu items will be available for purchase as well as inside seating for a break from the heat after the little ones compete. Make sure to arrive 15 minutes early and RSVP to save a spot for the athletes to show off their summer skills.

Art Walk at OWA

Friday 23, 2023—Take a walk through downtown OWA and get a feel for the arts with ART WALK at OWA. An event unlike any other you’ve seen there before. This Friday OWA presents an opportunity for guests to relax and stroll through the park while gazing at local handcrafted goods and other unique art pieces. The Gulf Coast is home to many artists, vocal and otherwise, with over 550 art-related festivals throughout the year. OWA has designed this one in a way that ties it all together for a full Southern arts experience from start to finish. The event begins at 5:00 PM with live music at one end or the other. Solo musicians drift around in and out of the crowds, including a saxophonist for a real over-the-seas art dive experience you don’t want to miss. Be a part of the first-ever coastal Art Walk at OWA and stay for dinner at one of OWA’s signature restaurants.

Walker Hayes concert at the Wharf

Saturday 24, 2023—Start the day off right by joining local Eco enthusiasts to bring awareness to beach guests about the need to keep it clean. Meet the team at the Live Bait parking lot at 8:45 AM for the monthly community trash pick-up event. Go to mycleanco.com for more details on this event plus more. After doing your part to keep the beaches and waterways clean, get ready for a night full of fun and laughs with family man American Country pop singer and songwriter Walker Hayes. For one night only come and dance your fancy away with a popular Mobile, Alabama native as he takes the stage with special guests Ingrid Andress and Ray Fulcher. The tour is called Duck Buck Tour, Hayes says the name blossomed from simply his love for hunting ducks and bucks. The show is part of the Wharf Amphitheater’s 2023 C spire Concert series and limited tickets are still available to purchase.

Recreational Red Grouper Fishing in Gulf of Mexico Pauses in July

Starting from July 1, 2024, at 12:01 am local time, recreational fishing for red grouper in the federal waters of the Gulf of Mexico will be prohibited. This closure, extending through the end of the year, is enforced by NOAA Fisheries due to the expected meeting of the annual catch target of 1,840,000 pounds gutted weight by June 30, 2024.

Foley Preparing Work to Transfer Beach Express to State

As Alabama prepares to buy the bridge at the southern end of the Foley Beach Express, city officials are continuing plans to improve the route before it becomes a state highway. The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced plans to buy the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Orange Beach. State officials said the toll over the bridge will be eliminated when the purchase is completed.
