Overnight Fire Damages Three Homes In Bear Point

Fire Burns 3 Homes in Bear Point

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) —  A fast-moving house fire caused major damage to multiple homes and vehicles in the Bear Point community of Orange Beach early in the morning. Firefighters arrived to find one home engulfed in flames, with the fire already spreading to a neighboring house. Everyone inside both homes escaped before emergency crews arrived. Two people sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.


Orange Beach Fire/Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 2:21:53 a.m. in the 29,000 block of Bayshore Drive North. Engine 2 arrived on scene at 2:28:52 a.m. and reported that a single-family home was fully involved, with an adjacent home partially involved.


Additional Orange Beach Fire/Rescue units, including Battalion 1, Truck 2, Rescue 3, Truck 3, and Engine 4, responded to assist Engine 2. Gulf Shores Fire & Rescue and MedStar EMS also responded to the scene and remained on standby to handle any additional emergencies within the city.


Fire officials said the occupants of both homes escaped safely before firefighters arrived on the scene. Two occupants sustained minor injuries and were treated by paramedics at the scene. Both declined transport to a hospital.


The fire caused major damage to two homes and two vehicles. A third home sustained minor damage as firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further through the neighborhood.


The Orange Beach Fire Marshal's Office and the Alabama Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the cause of the fire. No information has been released about what may have started the blaze.


Orange Beach Fire & Rescue thanked Gulf Shores Fire & Rescue, MedStar EMS, the Orange Beach Police Department, Baldwin EMC, CMC Gas, and Baldwin County 911 for their assistance during the emergency response.
