A Night of Southern Charm and Laughter Awaits at Orange Beach Theatre

The Red Velvet Cake War

Orange Beach, Ala. – (OBA) – Tickets are now on sale for a Southern comedy, "The Red Velvet Cake War." The play follows a Texas family in a funny contest to make the best red velvet cake. The event will take place at the Orange Beach Performing Arts Center's Black Box Theatre.


The play was written by playwrights Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten. These writers are among the most produced playwrights by community theaters in the United States. The play was first performed by Hill Country Community Theatre (HCCT) from April 26 to May 13, 2018, according to a source from CTX Live Theatre. 


The comedy centers on three cousins who try to host a family reunion. The plot takes a hilarious turn involving a high-stakes bet on who can bake the best red velvet cake. The play has been described as a fast-paced uproarious romp that creates nonstop laughter from beginning to end.


The show will be performed on Friday, October 20th at 7 p.m., Saturday, October 21st at 7 p.m., and Sunday, October 22nd at 2 p.m.


The comedy is said to be a mix of humor and heart. It features unique characters and a lot of Southern charm.


Tickets can be bought on GoFan. The cost for students is $5, and for adults, it's $10.

Gulfarium to Release Rehabilitated Sea Turtles at Perdido Key

Perdido Key, Fla. – (OBA) – The Gulfarium CARE Center will be releasing several rehabilitated sea turtles back into the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, May 15th, at Perdido Key Public Beach Access #4. The event will begin at 11am and is expected to last about 10–15 minutes, weather permitting. In the case of inclement weather, such as storms or lightning, the release will be rescheduled.
