Orange Beach School Athletics Start 2026 In New Facilities

Multi‑sport facility brings top‑tier training and community space.
Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Orange Beach High School's new $46.1 million state-of-the-art athletic complex is officially open, featuring a football/soccer stadium with a track, a competition gym for basketball/volleyball, a fieldhouse with a weight room, covered practice areas, and advanced facilities built to withstand storms, providing a significant upgrade for Makos sports and the community. The facility, which opened in late 2025, serves all student-athletes and aims to be a premier venue for years to come.
Key Features
The new complex is an investment in student opportunities and community wellness, with features designed to withstand storm events.
- Competition Gymnasium: A 1,200-seat facility with a college-regulation, 94-foot-long court and a center-hung video board.
- Stadium: A football and soccer stadium with grandstands that seat 3,500 spectators, LED lighting, a Jumbotron, and an eight-lane track that includes areas for high jump, long jump, pole vault, javelin, and discus events. The football team began using the stadium in August 2025.
- Kinesiology and Exercise Science Building: A two-story building that sits between the stadium and the pavilion, featuring weight rooms with advanced training technology, a collegiate-like training room with hydrotherapy pools, classrooms, a computer lab, and a player's lounge.
- Multipurpose Pavilion: A covered practice facility measuring 150-by-200 feet with 60 yards of artificial turf and retractable nets for use with various sports.
The complex is designed to host school events, tournaments, and community activities, providing an economic boost to the area by attracting regional and national events.
