Orange Beach Cheerleaders Earn Back-to-Back State Titles

Students, staff, and families will gather to recognize the state champions this month.

Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — The Orange Beach City Schools cheerleading program is celebrating another milestone after the Mako cheerleaders captured the 2025 Alabama State Cheerleading Championship in the Game Day Division. This marks the second consecutive year the team has earned the prestigious state title. The accomplishment demonstrates the team’s dedication, teamwork, and community spirit that continue to define the young athletes. The win also highlights the strength of the athletics program at Orange Beach Middle and High School.


To honor the returning champions, Orange Beach Middle and High School will hold a “Victory Lap” on Wednesday, November 12th, at 9:50 a.m. Students and faculty will gather to welcome the team home and celebrate their triumph. A second community event, the “Championship Celebration,” will be held on Thursday, November 20th, at 9:00 a.m. in the Performing Arts Center. The official celebration is open to the public and will give the city a chance to acknowledge the team's success.


Each member of the Mako cheer squad contributed to the team’s achievement, combining athletic skill and school pride to secure the championship. Under the guidance of their coaches, the cheerleaders delivered a powerful performance that impressed judges and captivated the audience. With precise routines and strong crowd involvement, the Makos once again proved themselves among the state’s best.


School officials and community members praised the team for their hard work and excellence. The victory continues a tradition of success for Orange Beach City Schools, which has become known for fostering both academic and extracurricular achievement. Parents, teachers, and peers have expressed pride in how the team represents the school and the coastal community.


As the Makos prepare for upcoming events, their latest championship has energized students and supporters across the city. With back-to-back state titles, the Orange Beach cheerleaders have cemented their place in Alabama high school cheerleading history. Their success is a reflection of discipline, teamwork, and the unwavering spirit of Mako Nation.
