Orange Beach, Ala. — (OBA) — Several local governments along the Alabama Gulf Coast will close their offices in observance of Good Friday. The closures will affect cities including Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, and Foley. Baldwin County offices will also be shut down for the holiday. Emergency services, however, will remain fully operational throughout the day.

The closures are scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2026. Most offices are expected to resume normal business hours on Monday, April 6. Residents who need government services should plan to complete any necessary transactions before the holiday weekend begins.

In Orange Beach, all non-essential city offices will be closed on Good Friday. Residential trash and recycling collection will continue as usual and not be affected by the closure. City offices will resume their regular schedule on the following Monday.

Gulf Shores will also close its non-essential administrative offices for the holiday. Residential trash and recycling collection in Gulf Shores will continue as scheduled and will not be delayed. Emergency services in the city will remain fully operational while municipal offices are closed to the public.

The City of Foley will also close its offices for Good Friday. Foley residents should note changes to their garbage and recycling pickup schedule. Trash and recycling normally collected on Thursday and Friday will instead be picked up on Thursday, April 2.

Baldwin County Commission offices, the Citizen Service Center, and the Building Department will all be closed on April 3. State driver's license offices in the county, including those in Fairhope and Foley, will also be closed on Good Friday.

Baldwin County courts will be closed to the public on Good Friday. Only emergency cases will be heard during the closure. The Planning and Zoning office will also be closed to the public for the holiday.

Baldwin County residents who need solid waste or garbage services should contact Baldwin County Solid Waste directly for any route changes that may affect their area. Officials recommend confirming pickup schedules in advance. Spending a few minutes to verify before the holiday can help prevent confusion or missed pickups.
