Lucy Buffett Marks Milestone as Grand Marshal of Gulf Shores Parade

Alan Sealls passing off the Grand Marshal job to Lucy Buffett

Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – Lucy Buffett, also known as LuLu and Jimmy Buffett’s “Crazy Sista”, has been named the Grand Marshal for the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade in 2024. Lucy and Mardi Gras both originated in Mobile, Alabama. Her career has taken her from chefing in various cities, including New Orleans and New York, to being a chef on a yacht in Belize.

Eventually, Lucy returned to the Gulf Coast to open LuLu's Sunset Grill on Weeks Bay in 1998, a spot that quickly turned into the go-to spot for food, fun and live music. In 2004, LuLu’s relocated from Weeks Bay to a new home in Gulf Shores on the Intracoastal Waterway. Later, LuLu’s expanded to two additional locations, Destin and Myrtle Beach.

As Lucy celebrates 25 years of LuLu’s, she is looking forward to participating in the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade as Grand Marshal on February 13th. The parade starts at 10 a.m. and runs along East Beach Boulevard until it ends at Lake Shelby. (See map below.)
