Canal Road East widening project is underway

Orange Beach, Ala. - (OBA) - The East Canal Road widening project is underway and it will disrupt pedestrian, bike and golf cart traffic in this area until early October.

Portions of the sidewalk on East Canal Road will be closed on and off between Hwy. 161 (Doc's) and Wilson Boulevard (Rec Center) for the duration of the road widening project.

For the next two weeks, the sidewalk will be closed in the area of the future roundabout near the library and art center.

For those wanting to get to Doc’s Seafood or GTs on the Bay, or anywhere west of the art center for at least the next few weeks into early to mid October, you’ll need to use your car.

The area is an active construction zone and will not be safe for golf carts, pedestrians or bicyclists.

Pensacola Man Arrested After Break-In in Foley

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – At around 2:45 a.m., Foley police responded to a burglary call on State Highway 59. Officers found a man inside the business and apprehended him. The suspect, 52-year-old Patrick Odell Levens from Pensacola, Florida, had used a power tool to cut a hole in the back wall to get inside.
