Lemonade Day Kick off
By the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber
January 31, 2019 - Gulf Shores, AL - (OBA®) - The Coastal Alabama Business Chamber is excited about hosting Lemonade Day for the second year in the Coastal Alabama region.
"Lemonade Day is a FREE educational program designed to teach children about financial literacy and entrepreneurship, teaching them how to start, own, and operate their own business – a lemonade stand," said Nick Wilmott, Past Chairman of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber and City Champion for Lemonade Day - Coastal Alabama. "Through this program they will take the same steps that we as adults do when starting our own business."
Lemonade Day Coastal Alabama takes the optimistic creativity of Baldwin County youth and combines it with life skills, business skills, mentorship, and real-world experience necessary to become successful entrepreneurs. Youth set goals, create plans, and work their plans to achieve success. They earn real money and use 100% of their profit to spend, save, and share based on their goals. Along the way, youth build self-esteem and new mindsets that can propel them to success they may not have pursued otherwise. By providing this critical training, the Lemonade Day program enforces the American Dream: the ideal that every citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative.
This year Lemonade Day will be held nationwide on May 4th and is open to Baldwin County children in Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Parents and children interested in learning more about the program are invited to join the Chamber for a Kick Off Party at LuLu's Gulf Shores from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6th.
