October 29, 2019 – Orange Beach, AL – (OBA®) – Caroline Jones is fast becoming her own Gulf Coast girl and not just through her hit song.

The rising star will bring her talents and her hit song “Gulf Coast Girl” to the 12th annual Hangout Oyster Cook-Off Craft Spirits and Beer Weekend on the main stage in the Hangout courtyard on Nov. 2 at 2:15 p.m. It will be her first “official” gig on the Gulf Coast she shows the love for in the popular song. Chasin Me Caroline Jones“I look very, very forward to playing the Hangout Cookoff, especially having had the song ‘Gulf Coast Girl’ out for a few months now,” she said.

She’s been rubbing elbows with some of the biggest music stars in the country and two combined to give her the huge hit that has gone viral.

“Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally wrote ‘Gulf Coast Girl’ with me in mind to sing, which was a huge honor and pinch-me moment in my life,” Jones said. “I have known Mac for years; he was one of the first mentors to take me under his wing in Nashville and introduce me to the studio musician scene there.”

Video for “Gulf Coast Girl” was shot here on the gulf coast. Including near the homes of restaurant icon Lucy Buffett and Krispy Kreme magnate and entrepreneur Mac McAleer in Perdido Key.

“I shot the ‘Gulf Coast Girl’ video this past spring and it was absolutely beautiful,” Jones said. “I got to hang out at Jimmy’s sister LuLu’s restaurant and home. I will never forget the kindness and hospitality the whole family and friend circle showed me.”

Lucy said it was a thrill having Jones visit and stay and use the setting for parts of her video.

"I think the song and the video capture the true Gulf Coast experience and that’s something we know a little bit about,” Lucy said with a big chuckle. “Mac and I were delighted for Caroline to use our wharf for a location while filming her video for ‘Gulf Coast Girl.’ She is such a talented singer/songwriter and I’m always looking for opportunities to help and empower working women. Plus, it was lots of fun for us, with Mac also running one of the camera boats.”

Making cameo appearances on the recording are Jimmy Buffett, McAnally, Kenny Chesney and Lukas Nelson, son of superstar Willie Nelson.

Caroline Jones 3“Truly a dream come true,” Jones said. “Jimmy and Mac wrote the song, so it was very important to me to have their voices featured and captured in such a special moment for me. I met Lukas at a Margaritaville event, and we became fast friends. And lastly, I was on tour with Kenny Chesney this spring, so we asked him to feature as well and he was kind enough to lend his talent and time. It’s truly an impressive list of stars featured on ‘Gulf Coast Girl.’ I feel very blessed.”

Jones continues to tour with some of the biggest acts in the country and it’s how she first crossed paths with Jimmy Buffett.

“I met Jimmy two years ago when I opened the Trying to Reason Hurricane Relief Concert in Tallahassee,” Jones said. “He invited me to sing with him onstage and we really hit it off. I toured all of 2018 with Jimmy and the Coral Reefer Band. Jimmy and Mac have gone out of their way to support me in my career. I really owe the career I have thus far to them and Zac Brown, who was the first headliner to take me on tour.”

But certainly not the only one. Touring has become one of the biggest parts of her career and she’s shared the stage – and continues to share the stage – with modern and classic rock bands.

“I’ve had the privilege of touring with some of my greatest heroes and influences, from Zac Brown Band, One Republic, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, and Vince Gill to Jimmy Buffett and The Eagles,” Jones said. “I absolutely love touring. Playing live and connecting with new fans has really been the bread and butter of my career thus far.”

Her touring has been in support of her album “Bare Feet” and now she’s promoting a new EP, “Chasin’ Me.” The Connecticut native now splits time between family in Florida and her musical base of Nashville. She’ll close out an impressive year of touring with her first appearance on the most iconic stage in country music.

“I spent this year touring with Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown, and Vince Gill, and I will close out the year with Trisha Yearwood on the ‘Every Girl Tour’ and with my Grand Ole Opry debut on Nov. 16,” Jones said.
