August 27, 2019 – Orange Beach, AL – (OBA®) – Summer may be winding down but it’s not going out with a whimper at the world-famous Flora-Bama Lounge and Package.

The iconic beach bar will have activities beginning on Thursday night with a Country Music Hall of Fame songwriter, Saturday will be the end of the year bikini contest on the tent stage at 3 p.m. and a brand-new continuing event will kick off on Sunday afternoon.

The inaugural Flora-Bama Sunset Beach Concert Series will feature Justin Moore, Easton Corbin and Trea Landon. Gates will open at 3 p.m. with music starting at 4. This is a ticketed event but only $49.50 general admission tickets remain, plus fees and taxes. The sand pit and VIP areas are already sold out.

“This is the kickoff of a series of intimate shows on the beach,” Marketing Director Jenifer Parnell said. Parnell said plans are in the works to expand the series in 2020.

Gates for wrist banding and bag check will open at 1 p.m. Concert gates to the beach area will open at 3 p.m. Patrons are urged to come early to beat the crowd and encouraged to use Uber, Lyft or taxi companies because parking is always a premium. There will be separate drop-off areas for visitors from Alabama and Florida.

Patrons also need to be advised that all Bama bars will be cash only the entire weekend and ATMs are available all over the property.

The man who wrote “The Gambler” for Kenny Rogers, “On the Other Hand” and “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis and “When You Say Nothing at All by Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss will celebrate his birthday Aug. 28 at the Bama.

It will be in the intimate Main Room upstairs at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 and on sale the day of show on a first-come, first-served basis. Show up early to make sure you get a seat.


Flora-Bama bikini is Aug. 31 at 3 p.m.The overall winner will be named from those who advanced during the earlier bikini contests at the Bama. Competition starts at 3 p.m. in the raucous tent stage.

The contest will include the reigning winners from this year's Miss Mullet Toss Friday, Miss Mullet Toss Saturday, Miss Memorial Day and Miss Firecracker. All top 3 winners from each contest qualify for a chance to compete to take home the top title of Miss Flora-Bama 2019 and the grand prize of $5,000. Second is worth $1,000 and third $500.


Following the Labor Day weekend concerts and parties, the annual Bulls on the Beach rodeo returns the next weekend on Sept. 5-7 in the west parking lot. Bull riders from all of the southeast will be in town for the event.
