New turn lanes coming to Highway 31 in Spanish Fort | News | fox10tv.com

SPANISH FORT, Ala. (WALA) - More construction started Monday on Highway 31 in Spanish Fort. The Alabama Department of Transportation is working on the left-turn lanes at the intersection of Highway 31 at Highway 225. ALDOT is installing off-set turn lanes to increase visibility and safety in the area.

Construction on major Spanish Fort intersection begins today

Spanish Fort, Ala. (WKRG) -- For months commuters have had to deal with road construction on  Highway 31.   Starting this morning a new project gets underway that promises more slowdowns for commuters.The intersection here doesn’t have great visibility, it is hilly and this project is meant to help drivers but it means some inconvenience for several weeks.

Roundabout coming to ‘gateway’ intersection into Fairhope | fox10tv.com

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) - Construction on a roundabout is expected to begin within the year at Scenic 98 and Hwy. 104 in Fairhope. The city is studying the possibility of adding a pedestrian tunnel under the roundabout, as well as walking and biking trails in the area, locally known as 'the triangle.'

Canal Road widening, part of $40 million in RESTORE Act funding for Orange Beach | fox10tv.com

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WALA) - The widening of Canal Rd. is one of several projects coming to Orange Beach, funded by penalties associated with the 2010 Deepwater Horizon (BP oil spill).Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon secured $40 million of around $275 million in Restore Act funds, which is divided among areas in Mobile and Baldwin County. Canal Road, which is one of two ways into Orange Beach, will be widened and improved in Fall 2019, using a portion of that $40 million.

Stockton man dies in early morning Baldwin County crash

January 20, 2019
BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) -- Alabama State Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 19-year-old Stockton man. Troopers say Adrian Baugh Johnson was traveling north on Moog Avenue in a 2014 Ford F-150 when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree. Troopers say, despite using a seat belt, Johnson suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which happened shortly before 1:30 a.m.
