Tropical Storm Barry brings dangerous conditions to Alabama beaches | WPMI

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WPMI) — Dangerous rip currents remain the main concern as Tropical Storm Barry's outer bands whip across the coastline. Double red flags have been flying for three days from Orange Beach to Fort Morgan alerting everyone to stay out of the Gulf waters.

Gulf waters closed along Baldwin beaches – WKRG

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — Double red flags went up early Thursday morning along Baldwin County beaches in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. One look at the Gulf of Mexico and you can see why. Swells of four to five feet, an excessive amount of rip currents and a building surf makes it too dangerous for swimming.

New Orange Beach sidewalk would provide connections to new school

June 25, 2019 - Orange Beach, AL - (OBA®) - A new sidewalk project by Orange Beach will connect two neighborhoods to the Sportsplex and have some unintended – at its inception anyway – bonuses with connections to the new school campus as well. “It’s just a great project,” Community Development Director Kit Alexander said. “I love this project. It couldn’t have worked out better. We started this project even before we knew the school was going to happen. It was sort of like serendipity.”
