Baldwin County bill aims to strengthen child sex abuse law | WPMI

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — A new bill, proposed by a Baldwin County legislator, aims to strengthen a state child sex abuse law and increase punishment for predators. Currently, a second degree sex abuse charge results in a misdemeanor violation if the child is between the ages of 12 and 15, and if the abuser is over the age of 19.

BREAKING: Four arrested in Foley armed robbery

April 19, 2019
Police say 22-year-old Anthony Duane Kendrick of Foley, 19-year-old Justis Rea Kendrick of Foley, and 19-year-old Skyler T. Baldwin of Foley forced their way into an apartment and, while armed with handguns, demanded cash and valuables from the three tenants while 20-year-old Eathan G.H. Saunders of Foley acted as a lookout. During the robbery, Anthony and Justis Kendrick assaulted one of the tenants causing injuries requiring medical attention.

4 young Foley men arrested after assault and armed robbery – al.com

Four young Baldwin County men were arrested Wednesday accused of a robbery and assault at an apartment complex in Foley. Police arrived at the Alison Pointe Apartments at approximately 11 p.m. after reports of a robbery in progress, according to the Foley Police Department. As police arrived at the scene, eyewitnesses said that the four suspects had just left, but were able to provide the description of the vehicle.

Motorcyclist faces charges following police chase in I-10

April 16, 2019
BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) -- A motorcyclist is facing charges after leading police on a chase along I-10 in Baldwin County. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash happened near exit 38 in Malbis. Officers were trying to pull over the motorcyclist on a traffic violation. The motorcyclist then hit the back of a police cruiser and crashed. The motorcyclist was taken the hospital to be treated. He's expected to be released and charged soon. It's not clear what charges he will face.

22 Cuban nationals aboard disabled vessel held in Baldwin Co. for expedited removal | WPMI

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) received 22 Cuban nationals rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard in the Gulf of Mexico more than 100 miles north of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico on Sunday. The individuals had been adrift for three days aboard a disabled sports fisher before being found by the Coast Guard and transferred to the Carnival Cruise Line Fantasy.

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WPMI) — Hemp is now a booming industry in the state of Alabama, but NBC 15 found out it could lead to a mistaken arrest due to its similarities to marijuana. Hemp was made legal by the Alabama Farm Bill in December of 2018, and is now a valuable crop for many Baldwin County farmers.

Orange Beach man facing drug trafficking charges after police raid

April 12, 2019
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WKRG) The five-acre property on Russian Road was crawling with law enforcement officers as soon as the sun came up Thursday. By mid-morning, Tosh Peters was in custody.  During the search of his house, investigators found something unusual.  "We found this area in the flooring that appeared to be used as a vent pipe and we noticed there was air coming from that location and we could hear a fan down below," says Orange Beach Police spokesman Lt. Carl Bradley.
