Dauphin Island People’s Parade rolls on Saturday to a lot of excitement | fox10tv.com

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. -- It is Mardi Gras season, and the People's Mardi Gras Parade rolled on Dauphin Island on Saturday down Bienville Boulevard. "Actually this is my first Mardi Gras so I'm very excited all of our kids are here, we're just glad to be here," said Debra Tolliver, who is a 4th grade teacher on a field trip.

First parade of 2019 Mardi Gras season

Dauphin Island, Ala. (WKRG) -- When you come to the first Mardi Gras parade of the year, it becomes an all-day affair on Dauphin Island.  People lined the parade route for hours with lawn chairs, small grills, and coolers full of food and drinks.  Despite the fact skies were a little dreary, the weather was hardly a factor in Saturday’s festivities.  This is a special parade in a special community in south Mobile County.

January 10, 2019 - Orange Beach, AL - (OBA®) - Mardi Gras parades in Orange Beach will begin to roll with The Mystical Order of Mirams Mardi Gras Parade on Friday, March 1st. The parade begins on Perdido Beach Boulevard at 6:30 p.m. at the traffic signal just east of Phoenix West and it will end at intersection at Highway 161 and Perdido Beach Boulevard.

Mobile Mayor: Mardi Gras parade permit fee to increase after the 2019 season | Mardi Gras | fox10tv.com

MOBILE, ALA. (WALA)- Officials with the Mobile Police Department held a meeting with the Mobile Mardi Gras organizations on Wednesday, October 24 with the purpose of discussing a possible rate increase in parade permitting fees. Chief Lawrence Battiste suggested hiking up the fees from $1,000 to $5,000 and many organizations were in an uproar.
