ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WKRG) -- WKRG will join distinguished American Heart Association supporters for the Art for Heart VIP party Thursday at Melanie Martin Interiors in Orange Beach. Auction items for the Baldwin County Art for Heart Gala will be revealed and honorees will be introduced including Bayside Academy Coaches Mark Lasseter and Phil Lazenby.  In 2017, Lazenby administered CPR to Lasseter when Lasseter collapsed from a heart attack at school.

GoFundMe created for Fairhope mother killed in fire

March 10, 2019

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) -- 41-year-old Delia Leigh Cook, one of the two people injured in a mobile home fire in Fairhope, died of her injuries Friday. She leaves behind three children.  A GoFundMe page has been set up to help family cover funeral costs and other expenses. Any leftover money will be put into a trust for the children’s future needs and education.

What she got, was a full trailer of food, drinks, household items and children's activities; all within hours of asking for the community's help.

Coastal Baldwin forms endowment foundation to help nonprofits – Lagniappe Mobile

Leaders from three south Baldwin County cities are raising money to establish an endowment fund with the goal of awarding community grants to nonprofits. The Tri-City Community Foundation aims to serve Foley, Gulf Shores and Orange Beach and surrounding communities. It’s the latest of three established under the umbrella of the Community Foundation of South Alabama (CFSA) in Mobile, which serves Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Escambia, Mobile, Monroe and Washington counties.

Felines and Firemen: Gulf Shores Fire and Rescue publish calendar featuring cats

Gulf Shores Fire and Rescue have teamed up with the newly formed Gulf Shores Animal Care and Control Program and created a calendar that features local firefighters and, wait for it, kittens.

Foley brings Christmas to victims of Hurricane Michael | GulfCoastNewsToday.com

FOLEY – The City of Foley will be delivering Christmas to Florida this year, helping out approximately 30 families who were affected by Hurricane Michael. During October, Foley council approved to take spare funds from multiple departments and combine them to send to Florida for supplies and to support the relief efforts.
