Gulf Shores, Ala. – (OBA) – The City of Gulf Shores announces a new event that promises to be a tail-wagging good time for both residents and their canine companions. The inaugural Doggy Fest 2024 is set to take place at Meyer Park on Saturday, April 20th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

With a diverse program including live music, art exhibits, and interactive barking sessions, the event aims to engage the community in a celebration of the joy that dogs bring to their lives. Educational vendors and kid-friendly craft activities will be available to enrich the experience, while free popcorn will be provided.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a doggy obstacle course, where furry friends can showcase their agility and compete for prizes. The community mural initiative adds a creative touch to the festivity, allowing attendees to leave a mark of their presence.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register their pets for the event, which includes a $10 fee per dog. Registration benefits include a custom pet caricature and a festival swag bag, ensuring that the memories of the day last beyond the event itself.

Event organizers have opened the doors for vendors to join the festivities, offering a unique opportunity to connect with the local community. For vendor inquiries or additional information, contact
jrobertson@gulfshoresal.gov or call 251.968.9818.

Participants are advised to bring their chairs or blankets for comfort during the outdoor event. The city also reminds attendees that all dogs must be well-mannered and on a leash at all times for the safety and enjoyment of everyone present. Pre-registration is available online, and those interested can begin signing up as of March 1st.
