Foley Police Seek Help To Identify Hit-and-Run Vehicle

Pedestrian Struck in Foley, Police Search for Suspect Vehicle, Blue Volkswagen Tiguan Sought

Foley, Ala. – (OBA) – The Foley Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a vehicle and driver involved in a hit-and-run incident that left a pedestrian injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening, April 17th, around 8:30 pm on Airport Road in Foley, Alabama.


According to the police, the pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident. The evidence collected at the scene suggests the vehicle is a blue 2018 to 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan SUV. The vehicle likely has damage to the passenger side mirror and front bumper.


Sergeant Sutherlin of the Foley Police Department is urging anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to contact the department at (251)943-4431. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are hopeful that the public can provide valuable information to help identify the suspect.

This closure, extending through the end of the year, is enforced by NOAA Fisheries due to the expected meeting of the annual catch target of 1,840,000 pounds gutted weight by June 30, 2024.

Foley Preparing Work to Transfer Beach Express to State

As Alabama prepares to buy the bridge at the southern end of the Foley Beach Express, city officials are continuing plans to improve the route before it becomes a state highway. The Alabama Department of Transportation has announced plans to buy the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway in Orange Beach. State officials said the toll over the bridge will be eliminated when the purchase is completed.
