Alabama Shakes, Drive-By Truckers rally fans in Orange Beach | AL.com

August 23, 2015

Say what you want about Lower Alabama. It might be a place where tens of thousands turn out for a free appearance by Donald Trump. But it’s also a place where thousands will show up for The Drive-By Truckers and The Alabama Shakes at full ticket price plus fees.

The two home-grown bands drew fans out to The Amphitheater at The Wharf in Orange Beach on Saturday evening for a performance that was long on grit and short on politics. But The Donald’s name did come up, the night after his stand in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. All in all, at least to judge from this crowd’s reaction, he wouldn’t stand a chance in a campaign against this ticket.
